Midweek Challenge: Monkeys

Just monkeying around with this week's challenge!

Variations on a Theme!

In my effort to get all caught up, I used the same collection of paper for several of the challenges I missed out on while on vacation.

This first card is for the June 13th Midweek Challenge: Things with Wings

Sketch #125

I'm back! Our family took the ultimate summer vacation! We went camping at the Grand Canyon. We took 4 days to get there with SeaWorld along the way, camped 5 days in the park, and drove 4 days home with stops at 4 Corners, Mesa Verde National Park, and friends in OK. It was super fun. I've been home a week and I have been cramming in card making whenever I can. The laundry still is not caught up!

Here is my card for Sketch #125. Despite what the photo looks like, all the reds match. It didn't turn out as cute as I'd hoped, but I just gotta get back into the swing of things!

Sketch #124

Paper: American Crafts, Heat Wave
Star Fish Die Cut: Cricut, Life's A Beach
Floss: From Stash

Our Daily Bread Designs June Challenge: A Shaped Card

This is actually my second attempt at a shape card. My first attempt didn't quite fit the ODBD challenge but you can see it below. This challenge gave me the opprtunity to try out a couple of my Cricut cartridges that I have been neglecting. This challenge also got me on the lookout for something cute to hold my cards for me...we'll have to wait and see what I come up with!

Paper: Recollections, Mosaic Memories
Button and Floss: From Stash
Heart Shaped Card and Die Cuts: Cricut, Wild Card

This is the first card I made for the shapes challenge, but then I decided it was still a rectangle and made my heart shaped card. This is my new favorite card. The pink is much brighter in person. The telephone is the front of the card and it flips up to show the sentiment inside. I lined the back of the card with white paper for the sender's message. I really love this card!

Paper: From the stash
Telephone Card and Sentiment: Cricut, Wild Card

A Bonus Sketch

This Bonus Sketch was posted back on May 28th. I really struggled with it until I saw Julie's card over at her blog Handmade By Julie . She chose a paper with a larger design and created a triptych with it. I loved that idea. I finally got around to it and I really like it! Thanks, Julie, for the inspiration.
