Mid Week Challenge: Thank You

This was my second attempt at a Thank You card today. I wasn't too happy with the first one I made so I posted it with some other cards I finished today. I like this one much better!

To Keep Me Busy...

I have finally printed out all the sketches I have missed and the check off sheet to go with them. I am on a mission to get all 110 done! I haven't really set a time limit on myself- I just want to enjoy trying each one out! Let's see how long it takes me!

My Second Birthday Card!

I think this card looks a lot cuter in person. The lighting in my craft room is a little weird!

Sketch #123

I had so much fun at this past weekend's Blog Hop! Thank you everyone who commented on my cards! I was so surprised to see so many wonderful comments. I am glad folks liked my cards. I have been super busy this week and I have lots of cards to share with you. This card is for Sunday's sketch challenge. The cardstock is photographing really dark. It's actually a lighter lavendar that matches the patterned paper.

It's Time to Get Hopping!

Hello! Thanks for joining in as we hop around this
Memorial Day Weekend.
This Memorial Day I will be thinking of my Father-In-Law, a member of the U.S. Army who I have never had the priviliege of meeting as he passed away from cancer in 1976 while serving our great country. He was only 26 years old. His sweet son, my husband, was born 6 weeks after his passing. We have been a military family for almost 11 years (he's been in 14 years) and as I know what it's like to have my spouse deploy, I feel a special bond with each card I create.
I love making cards for Operation Write Home!
I am pretty new to all of this and have loved every minute so far! Happy Memorial Day and happy card making!

I have chosen Sketch #23 for this hop!

Paper: DCWV Fun in the Sun Summer Glitter Pack & K&Company Julianne
Ribbon: JoAnn Craft Essentials

Mid-Week Challenge: Tropical Colors

Just in time! I thought this would be an easy challenge, but I was wrong! I don't have as many tropical colors as one might guess considering the paper hoard taking over my craft shelves! I am pleased with the outcome, however, even if it did take me almost a whole week to nail down. :)

Paper: K& Company, Best of K& Company
Ribbon: Ki Memories, Envy Solid
Ink: VersaMagic Turquoise Gem
Stamp: Unknown

Blog Hop!

Please join me Memorial Day Weekend for my very first Blog Hop with Operation Write Home. I am a little nervous getting trying to get everything set up just right, but I know it's gonna be super fun! I can't wait!

Sketch #121

Happy Belated Mother's Day! Here is the sketch from this past Sunday. I changed it up just a little by adding the sentiment at the top with the heart and substitutung a bow beneath it. I think this is a sweet card some little angel will love getting in the mail!
Paper: DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Girl
Font: Cricut Jubilee
Ribbon: Best Value Organdy

Aloha!

This card was inspired by a Luau we enjoyed this past weekend at our church. It was such a great night. I certainly wouldn't mind another trip to the islands, that's for sure.

Sketch #120

Here is my contribution for sketch #120.  I am so happy to be somewhat caught up! I missed out on two of the Rebel Weekend challenges (8&9) and I really want to try the gift box card from the Scrap Wrangler post. We'll see if I make time to get those done, too...

Scrappy Backgrounds & Mid Week Challenge: Patriotic

This card is working double duty! I wanted to get in on the Mid-Week challenge, but also wanted to try out the scrappy background technique. The background creation was pretty easy and I like the results. Thanks, Cara for the tutorial!

Rebel Weekend Challenge #3 & #4: Bright Colors and a "Food" Theme

Hello Penguin Papers & Stamping with a Mission!
I am very limited on craft time so I combined challenges for this card: Bright Colors and Food! Yum!

Rebel Weekend Challenge #2: Hoarded Items

Challenge #2: Use an item you've been hoarding.
I have had this paper pack for at least 3 years, possibly longer. It may have even made 2 moves!

Rebel Weekend Challenge #1: Paper Pieced Card for a Child

Hello Bits of Cheer!
I am terribly slow at getting things posted and linked, but here is my card from last weekend! It turned out really cute with fun papers, chalked edges, jewels, and glittered paper (Yes, it's permanently on there!) I think some little girl is going to LOVE receiving this card.

Sketch #117

For some reason I keep putting off these posts even though I am so excited to be getting all caught up, especially after those crazy challenges over the weekend. I wasn't able to complete them all, but I am happy with the cards I was able to complete. There will be lots more photos coming...

Keeping Busy

I posted this yesterday and then today's mid week challenge was announced: flowers! I am trying to catch up for the two weeks were in Idaho so I am glad I was ahead on this one! Enjoy!

An Old Challenge: Brown & Turquoise

This is the card I made for the Brown and Turquoise challenge...only it morphed into a lot more colors than that!

Sketch #116: Little Birds

I decided to turn this one and I liked where the logo happened to sit and added it to my card as well. I guess we would call this one a loose interpretation!

April Challenge: Include An Animal

I feel like I made this card ages ago, but it's only been a couple of weeks! I only wish I had textured the green background paper with swiss dots. It's too late now- I use too much adhesive to make changes. At least I know it's not coming apart anytime soon!

Sketch #115 Father's Day

So, I am a little behind. We travelled to Idaho last month from our home here in Mississippi for a cousin's wedding. I continued to make cards, of course, but haven't gotten around to posting them. Here was my submission for Sketch # 115
